Please pass this note on to the tournaments directors and referees
that you have contact with.
A
player will be suspended if they default out of five tournaments (2 points
each=10 pts) in a year. Illness, personal or family emergencies are not an excuses. Of course any other suspension points
for conduct are included in the total that may bring them to the 10 point
suspension.
Our
committee just suspended players - Some players apparently did not
know the rules. I think there is a misunderstanding out there with some
that the consolation does not mater.
Please
ask everyone to post a sign, notify the players that they will get the points
when the matches are defaulted. Of course the kids (and parents) are suppose to
read the rules ...but they do not and it is very sad when a new player is
suspended for 3 months. Actually any player should not be suspended from
play ...A couple of defaults for illness, then
the consolations and the points can add up ....
The MAS rule is different than the national rule concerning
illness, the points count for any default!
I
think it is a special mission at the district level to help educate the
players.
