Deadlines

 

  • Minimum players (at least 6) registered by 05/14/07.  
  • Initial detailed roster and one (1) check, payable to Columbia Association OR attach receipt from CA if fees paid by credit card.  Mail to Jim Lawson, 13308 Springwood Court, Ellicott City, MD  21042-1256 due on or before one week prior to first scheduled match, whichever occurs first. 
  • May add players up to and including 08/01/07.  In the event of a NTRP dynamic DQ, the date may be extended, subject to League Administrator discretion.

 

 

How to print a detailed roster:

  • Go to http://national.usta.com/, enter USTA # in Captain/Coordinator block on the right hand side, enter a password or confirm your email address, whatever you normally do.  Go to team summary page.  Click on Player Roster, when it opens, click “send to Excel”.  At that point, you can add CA # where applicable and then print out the form.  If the players are listed as 11, 12, etc. you did not enter your USTA# as above.  If done correctly, you will see detailed info of the player(s) starting with USTA #.

 

Adding & Deleting players:

  • Mail, not email the additional player form to Jim Lawson.  Only form and check payable to CA is necessary.
  • Email or mail player deletion forms to Liz Baker.  Player deletion form not valid unless signed by League Administrator or League Coordinator

 

League Starts:  on or about June 16, 2007

 

Tennis balls: When matches are played at Rockburn, Columbia Association will provide or exchange 3 cans for each time teams are assigned.

 

League last day:  August 19, 2007 (all postponed/rained out matches must also be completed by this date).

 

Team Captains:  Team captains are allowed to captain/co-captain only one (1) team in the same division at the same level.

 

Roster size:  up to 20 players are allowed.

 

Howard local rules have been submitted to Districts and have not been approved as of May 22, 2007


 

 

Player limitation: (MAS rule 10 (d)

 In local level leagues of:

1.  four or more teams, only two players who are registered on the same team may be members together on any other team in the same Division during the same season.

2.  three or less teams, three players may be members together on another team in the same Division during the same season.

 

The infraction occurs at registration.  (Tip: register on larger team first)

 Division = Adult, Adult Mixed, Senior Mixed, Senior, Super Senior, etc.

 

 

Court fees: (fees are per team per match)

 

Athletic Club - $60.00/team- $10.00/ player

Hobbit’s Glen - $30.00/team - $5.00/player

 

 

No play dates

Mixed District: June 22 – 24

Independence Day: July 4

Adult Districts – July 13 – 15

 

 

Cancellation policy (scheduled indoor matches only):

72-hour cancellation notice required.  Unless a written notice has been sent to Liz Baker and Jim Lawson, 72 hours in advance, all court fees, for the defaulting position, are the responsibility of the defaulting team. 

 

Administration fees: (in addition to TennisLink fees $22.50)

1.  CA Members including Bubble membership - $20.00

2.  Non-CA members - $40.00

Match results must be reported on TennisLink by either the winning or losing team captain, or their designee, within 72 hours of the completion of the team match. Failure to do so shall cause the local coordinator to instruct that the match be scored as a Double Default.  The non-reporting captain, or designee, must log in to TennisLink and confirm or dispute the reported match scores within 48 hours after they have been reported. After that time, TennisLink automatically blocks any attempt to edit or otherwise contest reported results, which are deemed final and complete with no further right of challenge. (SR6)

 

TIMED MATCHES:

We will no longer enter matches as Retired, unless there is an injury.

  • When the first set winner is awarded the match, the match shall be recorded as “TIMED”.  The actual game scores shall be recorded and the first set winner designated as the match winner.  For example 6-4, TIMED
  • When the second set is not completed in regulation time and the first set winner is awarded the match, the match shall be recorded as “TIMED”.  The actual game scores shall be recorded and the first set winner designated as the match winner.  For example 6-1, 4-2 TIMED

 

Playing on adjacent courts while USTA match is in progress:  Where dividers are in place and players have left the court, the oncoming players (no more than 4) may utilize the court until their match is scheduled to start, so long as play is not disrupted. Please cross-courts on changeovers or when a player has signaled you to pass through.  Please be courteous.  If you are asked not to warm up, please remember that the teams have paid for the courts and are entitled to the 2 hours. Warm up is allowed at Wilde Lake, only if there is more than 1 court space between match and warm up court.

 

Inclement Weather:  All matches will be played as scheduled. Columbia Association club employee will determine if courts are playable or not. The postponement of a match due to inclement weather must be reported to the League Coordinator(s).  The Captains must mutually agree on the date/time/place to play the postponed match within 7 days. Captains must report the rescheduling information to the League Coordinator(s). A match in progress but rained out does not have to be played at the same time and date, when approved by the LLC. In the event team Captains cannot mutually agree upon a time and date, the Local League Coordinator(s) will assign times and date for the rescheduled match. Home team Captain will initiate contact with opposing team Captain.
